Description
ORLIK is a winter triticale (X Triticosecale Wittm. ex A. Camus) variety intended for grain use, including the production of grain silage, alcohol, and beer. The plant is characterized by medium or high height, semi-erect or intermediate bush type, and a strong waxy coating on the sheath of the flag leaf. The ear is cylindrical, white, of medium length and density, fully awned with medium-length awns above the ear tip. The grain is of medium size, semi-round, red in color with a hairy base. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 26.0 to 50.2 grams depending on growing conditions. The variety is distinguished by early or medium heading time and resistance to shattering, which contributes to crop preservation. In various regions, including the Middle Volga region and the Republic of Tatarstan, the variety demonstrated high yield: average indicators reached 40.4 c/ha, and maximums up to 82.2 c/ha. These characteristics make ORLIK a promising choice for agrarians focused on obtaining high-quality grain and stable yields. ORLIK also possesses high adaptability and resistance to unfavorable conditions, ensuring its productivity even on fields with poor phytosanitary status. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions where it can be successfully used both for grain purposes and for the production of feed and technical products.
