The success of the Vaderstad Tempo is built on replacing traditional gravity-based seed distribution with the PowerShoot metering system. In standard planters, seeds fall under gravity, leading to chaotic bouncing within the seed tube at high speeds. Tempo utilizes a pressurized air delivery system: compressed air 'shoots' the seed directly into the soil, where it is instantly captured by a seed firming wheel. This eliminates spacing errors even when operating at speeds of 15–18 km/h.

Row Unit Design: Depth Control

The technical sophistication of the Vaderstad Tempo is most evident in its depth control mechanism. The paired 470mm gauge wheels operate with minimal clearance to the seed disc, allowing for precise contour following. A key feature is the hydraulic downforce adjustment. This is critical for No-Till operations or hard soil conditions, where the planter must maintain a consistent sowing depth without the risk of the unit riding out of the soil.

• Electric Drive Metering: Each row unit is equipped with an independent motor, allowing for precise control of the seeding rate directly from the tractor cab via the E-Control system.
• Fertilizer System: The use of a double-disc fertilizer coulter allows for placement independent of the seed row, preventing root system 'burn' caused by high nitrogen concentration.
