Chilon

Chilon (Usta) F1 watermelon is an early hybrid type Crimson Sweet, developed by the Turkish seed company Yuksel Tohum. The vegetation period of this variety is 60-65 days from fruit set, allowing for early harvest. The plant is compact and well-balanced, with abundant foliage and a strong root system. The hybrid is resistant to short-term cold snaps, does not drop fruit, and tolerates drought and high solar activity, making it suitable for cultivation in both open and protected soil. Chilon watermelon fruits have a round-oval shape with a characteristic green striped coloration. The weight of one fruit ranges from 8 to 11 kg. The flesh is bright red, dense, juicy, and crunchy, free of fibers and voids. The flavor is rich and honey-like, giving the watermelon exceptional appeal. The internal structure of the fruits is uniform, with adequate juice content, and the presence of small seeds does not reduce product quality. The fruits easily detach from the stem, facilitating harvest and preserving fruit integrity during long-distance transport. The Chilon F1 hybrid is characterized by high yield and long storage life, while the flavor of the watermelons remains consistent throughout the entire marketing period. The fruits are not prone to overripening or cracking, reducing losses during harvest and storage.
