EPICA

Epica F1 watermelon is a mid-early, high-yielding hybrid of the Crimson Sweet type, developed by the French breeding company Clause. The first harvest can be obtained just 60-70 days after transplanting seedlings. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth, strong stems, and dense, slightly elevated foliage, which promotes rapid development of the bush and root system. From one plant, two to four fruits are formed, which are distinguished by high uniformity in shape and weight.

Epica watermelon fruits have an oval or ellipsoid shape with a classic striped coloration. The average weight of one watermelon ranges from 12 to 14 kg, with a length of 28-30 cm and a diameter of 23-25 cm. The flesh is characterized by a crunchy and juicy structure, without internal cavities and veins, contains a moderate amount of seeds and about 10-11% sugar, providing a pleasant sweet taste. The fruit is reliably protected by a thick, hard skin (10-12 mm), which promotes long-term storage and transportation without loss of quality.

Epica F1 watermelon is well-adapted to hot climates with moderate rainfall, especially in southern regions. It is resistant to major watermelon diseases, such as anthracnose and fusarium, as well as to adverse weather conditions. Thanks to these qualities, the watermelon is suitable for fresh consumption, pickling, and processing, and can be stored for up to 1-2 months after harvest, making it a universal and reliable choice for growing and marketing.
