Grey Belle Watermelon is a medium-early type Charleston Grey variety that matures in an average of 80-85 days from the time of mass germination. The fruits have a round or slightly oval shape, with a gray-green rind adorned with mottled veins and medium thickness, providing protection against sunburn. The weight of a single watermelon typically ranges from 8 to 12 kg, with the potential to reach up to 14 kg under ideal conditions. This variety is characterized by high yield and can produce 2-3 fruits per plant. The flesh of Grey Belle watermelon is a rich raspberry or red color, very juicy and sweet due to its high sugar content. The seeds are small and dark brown, with a low quantity in the fruit, making the consumption particularly pleasant. Thanks to its dense rind and good storability, ripe fruits withstand long-distance transportation and remain fresh for a long time after harvest. The variety exhibits high resistance to abnormally high temperatures and drought, making it especially suitable for cultivation in open ground without irrigation systems. The recommended planting scheme is 1.4 meters between rows and 0.6 meters between plants within the row, with seed sowing depth around 35 mm. The seeds, produced in France, are treated with the fungicide Metalaxyl-M to protect against diseases, contributing to successful cultivation and high productivity of the variety.
