RASPBERRY FROSTED MELON

The Melon variety 'Raspberry Frosted' is an interesting trailing variety with a long main shoot and a marble pattern on the fruits. The berries of this variety are large, weighing from 8 to 10 kilograms, with a thin rind and bright pink, sugary flesh that has a rich taste. The first harvest ripens 90-100 days after germination, and the fruits maintain their marketable quality for a month after harvesting. For successful cultivation of 'Raspberry Frosted', sowing for seedlings in early May with subsequent transplanting into open ground in late May - early June is recommended, when the plants have formed 3-4 true leaves. In southern regions, direct sowing in the soil in April-May is possible. When growing under film cover, the plants are formed into a single stem, removing side shoots up to a height of 50 cm and pinching subsequent ones above the 1-3 leaf, and tying to a trellis for support. For good growth and abundant fruiting, timely watering, regular weeding, loosening, and feeding with mineral fertilizers are necessary.
