TARANIS

The Taranis watermelon variety is an early-ripening hybrid intended for cultivation under various climatic conditions, including the North Caucasus region. The plant is highly vigorous, which contributes to good fruit coverage and protection. The vegetative period ranges from 50 to 71 days depending on growing conditions, allowing for early harvest. The fruits are widely elliptical or round in shape, of large size, with a weight from 5.6 to 9 kg. The rind is of medium thickness, ensuring reliable protection of the flesh during transportation and storage.

The flesh of the Taranis watermelon is characterized by a rich dark red color and a dense structure, possesses excellent taste qualities and aroma, as confirmed by a high tasting score of about 5 points. The fruit contains a small seed chamber, seeds are small, black in color with a dot-like pattern. Thanks to these characteristics, the watermelon is suitable both for fresh consumption and for market sale.

For successful cultivation of the Taranis variety, it is recommended to use seedlings, especially in conditions of tunnel film coverings or under covering material in the early season. The variety is well adapted to various regions, which allows obtaining high marketable yield up to 960 c/ha.
