Yunak

The 'Yunak' watermelon variety is an early-maturing, high-yielding type with uniform fruit ripening, allowing harvest within 70-80 days after emergence of seedlings. The fruits are spherical, weighing between 2 to 6 kilograms. The smooth, dark green rind features black or barely visible stripes, giving the watermelon an attractive appearance. The flesh is bright red or carmine-red, dense, tender, and very juicy, distinguished by high sweetness, excellent flavor, and dietary and medicinal properties.

The 'Yunak' variety is versatile for cultivation and suitable for open fields, plastic-covered beds, or greenhouses. It is a warm-loving crop that can be grown either as transplants or directly sown depending on the climatic zone. When direct sowing, seeds are planted at a spacing of 140x70 cm. The transplant method is recommended for earlier harvests and in regions with short daylight hours and insufficient warmth. Standard care is required, corresponding to regional growing conditions.

For greenhouse cultivation, it is recommended to limit fruiting by leaving no more than one fruit per stem above the fifth leaf, removing all other fruit set, which accelerates ripening and improves fruit quality. The variety exhibits relatively good disease resistance, simplifying care and increasing the reliability of obtaining high-quality yields.
