Description
Systematic position: The Camellia whitefly (Aleurocanthus camelliae) belongs to the order Hemiptera and the family Aleyrodidae. It is a significant pest known for its potential to invade and establish in various agro-climatic zones, affecting the health of host plantations.
Host plants: The primary hosts are plants of the genus Camellia, but the species is also notorious for attacking various citrus crops, including lemons and oranges. Because of its adaptability, it represents a constant threat to both ornamental nursery stock and commercial fruit production.
