The Shizuoka whitefly (Aleyrodes shizuokensis) is an insect species belonging to the order Hemiptera and the family Aleyrodidae. Recognized as a significant pest, this whitefly species specializes in colonizing specific woody ornamental plants, impacting both plant health and aesthetic value in landscape plantings.
The primary hosts of this species include various members of the genus Ilex (holly). Due to their feeding habits, these insects can colonize dense foliage, often remaining unnoticed until the population reaches high densities and symptoms of damage become clearly visible to growers and gardeners.
