Anadiasa is a genus of moths belonging to the family Lasiocampidae, commonly known as lappet moths. These insects are specialized phytophages classified under the order Lepidoptera. Within the agricultural sector, the biological characteristics of these moths are significant, as they are capable of causing substantial damage to woody and shrub vegetation during outbreaks of mass reproduction.

The primary food sources for Anadiasa larvae are various species of trees and shrubs. Depending on the geographical region, they may affect forest stands, ornamental landscapes, and occasionally certain fruit-bearing species. Feeding damage to the foliage leads to a decline in the overall physiological vigor and health of the host plant.

The biology of this genus follows the typical pattern of the Lasiocampidae family, undergoing complete metamorphosis. The life cycle consists of four stages: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa, and adult (imago). Overwintering most commonly occurs at the egg stage or as early-instar larvae, depending on the specific species and regional climatic conditions, which dictates the emergence timing in the spring.

Damage typically manifests as the skeletonization or total consumption of leaf blades. Anadiasa caterpillars often exhibit cryptic or nocturnal behavior, making early detection difficult during initial infestations.
