Kilmez lappet moth

The Kilmez lappet moth (lat. Dendrolimus kilmez) is a species of moth within the order Lepidoptera and the family Lasiocampidae. It is recognized as a forest pest primarily affecting coniferous tree species. Its classification reflects its ecological affinity with other notorious forest defoliators, making its identification crucial for forestry management and integrated pest control strategies.

The host plants for this pest include various coniferous trees, most notably pines and spruces. In areas where these trees are prevalent, the presence of the Kilmez lappet moth can lead to localized infestations.
