Anisomorpha is a genus of insects belonging to the order Phasmatodea, commonly known as walking sticks, and the family Pseudophasmatidae. These insects are characterized by their remarkable ability to mimic plant stems and foliage, a biological adaptation that acts as a natural camouflage against predators and human observation.

These pests predominantly feed on a variety of broad-leaved trees, shrubs, and certain ornamental plants. In agricultural or landscape settings, they can cause significant foliage loss, particularly in warm regions where environmental conditions support the continuous growth and reproduction of these insect populations throughout the year.

The life cycle of Anisomorpha follows a gradual metamorphosis pattern, starting from eggs deposited in the soil or on plant debris, followed by several nymph stages. As they mature, both nymphs and adults consume substantial amounts of plant material, which can lead to severe stress for the host plant if the population reaches high density levels.

Key measures include maintaining garden hygiene to remove egg-laying sites, regular visual inspections of foliage during peak activity periods, and the targeted application of pesticides only when damage thresholds are exceeded. Promoting natural predator populations in the environment also serves as an effective long-term deterrent.
