Yellow crazy ant

The yellow crazy ant (Anoplolepis gracilipes) is a significant member of the family Formicidae (order Hymenoptera). It is recognized globally as one of the most destructive invasive species, capable of forming massive supercolonies that dominate native habitats and severely disrupt agricultural production.

This pest is particularly problematic in tropical and subtropical regions, affecting crops such as coconuts, cocoa, citrus, and coffee. While these ants do not consume plant tissues directly, they are notorious for their detrimental influence on the health of plants through the management of sap-sucking insects.
