Host plants and distribution. The species is known for being a polyphagous pest, which means it can feed on a wide variety of plant hosts. In agricultural settings, it is frequently found on grain crops, pulses, and occasionally vegetable varieties. Its ability to thrive in diverse environments allows it to exploit both cultivated fields and neighboring vegetation patches.

Life cycle and biology. The development of Aphanus apicalis consists of egg, five nymphal instars, and the adult stage.
