The slender millipede (Boreoiulus tenuis) is a species of millipede belonging to the order Julida and family Julidae. These soil-dwelling invertebrates are characterized by a cylindrical, elongated body with numerous segments and two pairs of legs on most segments. They thrive in moist environments where organic matter is readily available for their natural diet.

As agricultural pests, they pose a significant threat to young crops, including sugar beets, cereals, and various vegetables. Boreoiulus tenuis is particularly notorious for damaging germinating seeds and the delicate root systems of seedlings.
