The poplar aphid (Chaitophorus tremulae) is a specialized insect pest categorized under the order Hemiptera and the family Aphididae. It is recognized for its specific association with certain tree species, primarily within the genus Populus, playing a notable role in the ecology of deciduous forests.
The primary host for this species is the aspen (Populus tremula). These aphids tend to aggregate in dense colonies on the underside of leaves and along tender young shoots.
