Description
The Chrysoteuchia genus belongs to the Crambidae family within the order Lepidoptera. These moths are recognized as significant pests in agricultural landscapes, particularly affecting various grass species. Their biology is adapted to temperate climates, allowing them to establish stable populations in cereal-producing regions.
The primary hosts of these pests include economically important cereals such as wheat, barley, and rye. In addition to commercial crops, Chrysoteuchia larvae can thrive on wild grasses found near field margins.
