Cixius distinguendus is a species of planthopper belonging to the Cixiidae family, order Hemiptera. This insect is primarily known for its role as a vector of plant pathogens and its ability to feed on the sap of various host plants, causing physiological stress to crops.

The host range includes woody fruit trees, ornamental shrubs, and several vegetable species. The pest is particularly problematic in nurseries and orchards, where both the larval stage in the soil and the adult stage on foliage can inflict significant damage to plant health.
