Description
Systematic position: The Citrus whitefly (Dialeurodes vulgaris) belongs to the order Hemiptera and the family Aleyrodidae. It is a significant agricultural pest known for its high reproductive rate and specialized feeding habits on evergreen woody plants, posing a constant challenge for horticultural producers.
Affected crops: This pest primarily targets species within the Rutaceae family, especially citrus trees. Additionally, it has been observed on various ornamental plants such as gardenias, laurels, and coffee plants.
