The cotton caterpillar (Diaphania indica) is a destructive lepidopteran pest within the Crambidae family. Often referred to as the cucumber moth, this species is prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, significantly impacting horticultural production.

This pest primarily infests plants in the Cucurbitaceae family, including cucumbers, pumpkins, squash, and melons. It is also known to damage cotton plants. Given its rapid reproduction rate, it can cause devastating losses if not managed effectively during the peak growing season.
