Description

The Yellow peach moth (Dichocrocis punctiferalis) is a significant agricultural pest belonging to the Crambidae family. This moth is notorious for its destructive impact on fruit orchards and field crops throughout its distribution range in Asia and Australia.

The species has a broad host range, feeding on numerous economically important plants. Key hosts include various drupe and pome fruits such as peaches, apples, and pears, as well as citrus trees. Additionally, the pest frequently attacks field crops, including maize, sunflowers, and sorghum, causing substantial agricultural losses.

The life cycle of Dichocrocis punctiferalis consists of egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages. Females lay eggs directly on the fruit surface or plant stems.
