Brown shield bug

The Dictyotus caenosus, commonly referred to as the brown shield bug, is an insect belonging to the Pentatomidae family within the order Hemiptera. It is characterized by its broad, shield-like body shape and cryptic coloration, which provides excellent camouflage against various plant structures, making it a persistent challenge for crop scouts.

This pest affects a diverse array of agricultural crops, including cereals and legumes.
