While antlions are generally regarded as beneficial predators, the larval stage of this specific species can pose challenges in agricultural environments, particularly in sandy soil nurseries where their predatory pits interfere with plant establishment.
The distribution of this species is largely determined by soil texture, as they thrive in loose, dry, sandy environments.
