Glaucias subpunctatus is a member of the order Hemiptera and the family Pentatomidae. This species is recognized for its vibrant green coloration, which provides excellent camouflage within the foliage of various plants. As a pest, it is characterized by its piercing-sucking mouthparts used to feed on plant vascular tissues.

The damage caused by Glaucias subpunctatus includes the formation of chlorotic spots, deformation of leaves and fruits, and sometimes complete abortion of buds.
