Hemicycliophora arenaria is a species of plant-parasitic nematode belonging to the order Tylenchida and the family Hemicycliophoridae. As a microscopic soil-dwelling pest, it represents a significant threat to global agriculture, particularly in regions with lighter, sandier soil textures where the nematode thrives.

The host range of Hemicycliophora arenaria is quite extensive, including critical vegetable crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and various horticultural ornamentals. Due to its preference for sandy substrates, it is frequently found in greenhouse environments and fields where light soils are managed intensively for high-value produce.

Biologically, this nematode acts as an ectoparasite. It resides in the rhizosphere, using its stylet to penetrate the outer epidermal cells of plant roots.
