Inostemma is a genus of parasitic wasps belonging to the family Platygastridae within the order Hymenoptera. While they are technically parasitoids rather than direct plant consumers, they are frequently discussed in agricultural contexts due to their complex relationship with gall-midges, which are significant pests that cause plant deformations.

From a systematic perspective, these insects serve as specialized natural enemies in the ecosystem. They are widely recognized as agents of biological control, targeting the larvae of gall-forming insects.
