Taxonomic position. Kytorhinus is a genus of beetles belonging to the family Bruchidae (seed beetles) within the order Coleoptera. These insects are highly adapted to feeding on seeds of plants within the Fabaceae family, making them significant pests in both agricultural fields and storage facilities.
Host crops. The pest primarily targets leguminous crops. Its host range includes various economically important pulses such as peas, lentils, soybeans, and other legumes.
