Lehmannia nyctelia is a species of land slug belonging to the family Limacidae. As a significant plant pest, it is known for its ability to thrive in gardens, greenhouses, and agricultural fields where moisture levels remain consistently high, often causing distress to farmers and hobby gardeners alike.

This slug feeds on a wide range of botanical hosts. It is particularly damaging to leafy vegetables such as lettuce and cabbage, various root crops, strawberries, and soft-tissue ornamental plants. Because of its nocturnal feeding habits and preference for succulent foliage, it can decimate young seedlings or significantly reduce the yields of mature plants in a very short time.
