The hummingbird hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum) is a day-flying moth belonging to the family Sphingidae. It is widely recognized for its hovering flight pattern, which closely mimics a hummingbird. While primarily an important pollinator, its larval stage can occasionally become a nuisance for gardeners and agriculturalists due to feeding habits.
