As a member of the Hemiptera order, this insect utilizes piercing-sucking mouthparts to feed exclusively on the sap and reproductive organs of various plants, causing significant physiological stress to the host.

This species primarily attacks a wide range of agricultural crops, with a particular affinity for cereals such as rice, wheat, and leguminous plants like soybeans. The bug's feeding habits target the developing reproductive parts of the plants. By extracting fluids from immature seeds or grains, the insect effectively halts the filling process, leading to shriveled kernels and significant yield losses that directly impact the market value of the harvest.
