Host plants: This genus primarily infests a range of woody plants, with a notable preference for citrus species, Ficus, and various broad-leaved ornamental plants. In greenhouse conditions, they can infest a diverse array of flora, making them a recurring concern for nursery managers and plant collectors.

Biology and lifecycle: The lifecycle of Orchamoplatus follows the typical pattern of whiteflies: egg, multiple larval instars, and the adult stage. The nymphs are sessile, attaching themselves firmly to the abaxial leaf surface, while adults are capable of flight, which facilitates their spread across greenhouses and plant collections under warm, humid conditions.
