Biology and life cycle: This species is known for its polygynous colonies, where multiple queens exist, ensuring rapid population recovery after disturbance. The life cycle comprises four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. They typically nest in dark, moist environments, such as decaying logs, under rocks, or within soil covered by organic mulch.
