Peleopoda is a genus of insects classified within the family Oecophoridae, commonly known as concealer moths. These moths are part of the order Lepidoptera and represent a specific group of pests that can cause economic damage to various plant species, particularly in agricultural and forestry settings, where their larval stages interact with foliage and soft stems.

The host range of Peleopoda includes various broad-leaved trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants. The larvae feed on leaves, often creating silk-lined shelters or mining the leaf tissue, which disrupts the plant's ability to undergo photosynthesis effectively. In severe cases, the infestation leads to premature leaf drop and stunted growth.

The life cycle of these pests involves four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The moths are generally nocturnal and are attracted to light sources, which is a key factor in their monitoring. Depending on the ambient temperature, the duration of the larval stage can fluctuate, directly impacting the number of generations that emerge during a single growing season.

Damage symptoms often include leaf skeletonization, leaf rolling using silk webbing, and general decline of the plant canopy. Since the larvae are well-hidden, damage may not be immediately obvious until the plants show clear signs of stress, such as yellowing, wilting, or reduced fruit production in agricultural orchards.
