Pycnarmon cribrata, commonly known as the teak pyralid moth, belongs to the order Lepidoptera and the family Crambidae. This insect is recognized as a primary defoliator of teak (Tectona grandis), posing significant challenges to forestry management in its native and introduced range across Asia.
The life cycle follows a complete metamorphosis: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The moths are typically nocturnal, laying eggs in clusters on the abaxial surface of teak leaves.
