The Purple-barred yellow (Pyrausta purpuralis) is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. It is widely recognized for its vibrant color pattern, featuring purple wings with golden-yellow markings. Despite its beauty, it is considered a minor to moderate agricultural pest in areas where aromatic and medicinal crops are cultivated.

The larvae of this moth primarily feed on plants within the Lamiaceae family, such as mint, thyme, marjoram, and oregano.
