Rachisphora styraci is a specialized insect pest belonging to the Aleyrodidae family within the order Hemiptera. Commonly recognized as a type of whitefly, this species specifically targets members of the Styracaceae family, with Styrax species being the primary host plants for its population growth.

The pest primarily infests the abaxial (underside) surfaces of leaves. By congregating in large numbers, the insects form localized colonies that exploit the plant's vascular system.
