Description
Systematic position. The root mealybug Ripersiella halophila belongs to the order Hemiptera and the family Pseudococcidae. It is a highly specialized subterranean pest that thrives in soil environments, making it a challenging target for standard pest management programs due to its hidden lifestyle.
Affected crops. This species infests a wide array of host plants, including ornamental species, succulents, and various vegetable crops.
