As temperatures rise in spring, nymphs resume activity and feeding, undergoing several molts before reaching the adult stage, which is characterized by high mobility and reproductive potential.

Damage caused by this cricket includes irregular feeding holes in foliage, severing of stems at the soil level, and consumption of germinating seeds. High population densities can lead to significant stand reduction and the loss of crops, requiring timely interventions to prevent economic damage during the early vegetative stages.
