Description

Teleonemia morio is a species of lace bug belonging to the order Hemiptera and the family Tingidae. These insects are easily identified by the delicate, reticulated, lace-like pattern on their wings and thorax. As specialized herbivores, they have evolved to feed specifically on the foliage of certain host plants, utilizing their piercing-sucking mouthparts to extract vital cell fluids.

This pest primarily attacks ornamental shrubs and specific wild flora. Both adults and nymphs contribute to the damage by feeding on the underside of the leaves. High populations of the insect can lead to severe stress on the host plant, resulting in stunted growth, leaf yellowing, and occasionally, the premature death of smaller or vulnerable specimens.
