The sugarcane lace bug (Teleonemia sacchari) is an insect species belonging to the family Tingidae within the order Hemiptera. It is recognized primarily as an agricultural pest that specializes in damaging sugarcane crops across various tropical regions globally.

The pest specifically targets sugarcane, finding both nutrition and habitat on its foliage. Environmental conditions such as high humidity and consistent warmth are primary drivers for the rapid proliferation of Teleonemia sacchari, allowing for multiple generations to occur in a single growing season.

Its biological cycle progresses through three main stages: egg, nymph, and adult. Eggs are typically inserted into the leaf tissue, ensuring protection during the initial developmental phase.
