Tetraleurodes is a genus of insects belonging to the Aleyrodidae family, commonly known as whiteflies, within the order Hemiptera. These small pests are distinguished by the appearance of their fourth-instar nymphs, which often possess a darkened or distinct marginal rim, a key morphological feature used by entomologists for precise species identification.

These pests exhibit broad polyphagy, meaning they infest a diverse range of host plants including citrus species, various ornamental trees, shrubs, and numerous vegetable crops. They are particularly problematic in both greenhouses and warmer climates, where they can thrive and cause significant economic losses in horticultural production.
