Description

The whitefly Tetraleurodes neemani is a member of the Aleyrodidae family within the order Hemiptera. As a specialized pest, it thrives by feeding on the sap of various host plants, which causes substantial physiological stress and growth impairment to the infested vegetation.

The pest typically targets a range of ornamental and cultivated plant species. By colonizing the abaxial (underside) surfaces of leaves, the insect creates a micro-environment that protects it from adverse weather and many contact-based treatments, allowing populations to expand rapidly if left unchecked.

The life cycle of Tetraleurodes neemani progresses through eggs, mobile larvae, and sedentary pupal stages, followed by the emergence of winged adults.
