Clothianidin

Clothianidin is a highly active chemical substance belonging to the neonicotinoid class of insecticides. It acts as a systemic agent that is widely utilized in modern agriculture to protect crops from a broad range of insect pests. The primary mechanism of action involves the stimulation of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect central nervous system. By mimicking the action of acetylcholine, clothianidin triggers over-excitation of the nerve cells, leading to rapid paralysis and subsequent death of the target pest.
