Etacelasil

Description

Etacelasil belongs to the chemical class of chloroethylphosphonic acids. By its functional purpose, this compound is classified as a plant growth regulator, specifically an ethylene generator. It is widely used in crop production to stimulate physiological processes related to fruit ripening and to facilitate the process of fruit abscission from the stalk.

The mechanism of action of Etacelasil lies in its ability to release ethylene within plant tissues upon application. Ethylene is a natural phytohormone that accelerates cell senescence, chlorophyll degradation, and the activation of enzymes that soften cell walls. This impact allows for achieving a more uniform ripening of the harvest.

The main crops for applying this substance are stone fruits and nut trees, particularly olives and cherries. The product facilitates harvesting by reducing the detachment force of the fruit from the branch, allowing for the use of mechanized harvesting equipment. It is also used to stimulate defoliation under specific agronomic conditions.

Application specifics require strict adherence to temperature regimes and plant growth stages. Treatment that is too early may lead to undesired fruit drop or a reduction in fruit quality. The efficacy of the product depends directly on weather conditions: under optimal temperatures, ethylene release occurs uniformly, providing a predictable result.

Safety precautions when working with Etacelasil include the use of standard personal protective equipment for skin, eyes, and the respiratory system. The substance may have an irritating effect, so it is important to avoid direct contact with the concentrate. Storage of the product must be carried out in closed warehouse facilities, inaccessible to children and pets, away from food products.
