S-abscisic acid

Description

S-abscisic acid (S-ABA) is a natural plant hormone that plays a key role in regulating physiological plant processes. Unlike herbicides or fungicides, this substance belongs to the class of plant growth regulators (PGRs) and acts as an endogenous factor controlling the crop's adaptation to adverse environmental conditions.

The mechanism of action is based on the management of the stomatal apparatus. Upon application of S-abscisic acid, temporary closure of the stomata occurs, which significantly reduces transpiration and moisture loss. This makes the plant more resilient to water deficit, soil salinity, and high heat stress, while maintaining the metabolic activity of plant tissues.

The product is widely used on a broad range of crops, including vineyards, orchards, vegetables, and field crops. Its primary purpose is to increase stress tolerance during critical growth stages, as well as to stimulate ripening processes, improve fruit coloration, and enhance sugar accumulation, which directly impacts the marketability and taste quality of the harvest.

Application specifics include strict adherence to the protocols regarding crop growth stages. It is important to consider weather conditions at the time of application: high efficacy is achieved with early morning or late evening spraying. The substance is compatible with most agrochemicals; however, a compatibility test is recommended before preparing a tank mix.

Safety precautions include the necessary use of personal protective equipment when handling the concentrate. Although S-ABA is a natural metabolite, exceeding the recommended dosage may lead to temporary retardation of vegetative growth. Store the product in a dry, dark place, ensuring that no moisture enters the packaging.
