Tecnazene

Description

Tecnazene is an active substance belonging to the aromatic hydrocarbons class, primarily used as a fungicide for protecting agricultural produce during storage. Its main purpose is to suppress the growth of pathogenic microorganisms that cause rotting and spoilage of root crops after they have been harvested from the fields.

The mechanism of action of this substance is based on disrupting the respiratory processes of fungal cells, which inhibits their growth and reproduction. Tecnazene shows high efficacy against a wide range of phytopathogens, including agents of dry and wet rot, as well as other diseases that develop in the environment of vegetable warehouses.

Tecnazene is most widely used in the treatment of potatoes placed into long-term storage. The preparation helps to reduce harvest losses from fungal infections by preventing the spread of pathogens within the pile or containers, which is particularly important for maintaining the marketability and quality of the produce throughout the winter period.

The application of the product requires strict adherence to temperature and ventilation conditions in storage facilities. Typically, the substance is applied via fumigation or through special powdered formulations that ensure even coating of the tuber surfaces. It is important to avoid over-application to prevent negative impacts on the physiological state of the vegetables.

Safety precautions when working with Tecnazene include the mandatory use of personal protective equipment for the respiratory tract, eyes, and skin. Since the substance can remain on the surface of the produce, it is necessary to observe established waiting periods before selling or consuming the treated vegetables as food, strictly adhering to safety regulations.
