As a deep-rooted species, it is highly resilient, making it a persistent challenge in agricultural environments where it utilizes its creeping stems to colonize both cultivated lands and undisturbed areas.
The plant is commonly found in fields, pastures, and along roadsides, particularly in areas with moist, fertile soil. In agricultural settings, it frequently infiltrates crops like maize, soybeans, and cereals. Its ability to climb and wrap around stalks leads to significant competition for light and physical interference with crop development.
