The native range of the lingonberry encompasses the boreal and arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere, extending across Eurasia and North America. It thrives in acidic forest soils, heathlands, and mossy peat bogs, demonstrating remarkable adaptation to harsh environmental conditions and low soil fertility.
Botanically, the plant features a spreading rhizome system and glossy, elliptical leaves that remain green throughout the year.
