Amur honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii) is a vigorous, deciduous shrub belonging to the Caprifoliaceae family. This species is named after the Russian naturalist Richard Maack, who first documented it in the Far East.
Native to East Asia, including China, Korea, Japan, and the Russian Far East, the Amur honeysuckle has been introduced to various temperate climates worldwide. It is highly regarded in horticulture for its adaptability to diverse environmental conditions, serving as an excellent plant for erosion control, windbreaks, and dense privacy hedges.
